Blowing up money is not patriotic

Well, the Fourth is over. The village of Streamwood had no fireworks, but the people around me launched plenty. Was this patriotic?

Those fireworks were quite expensive. I heard the prices were double this year from last year, and they have always been expensive. Launching fireworks is blowing up a good deal of money.

Much of the money went to China, where the fireworks were made. How patriotic is supporting China?

People probably used borrowed money which means that they will be paying interest on what they blew up for quite some time.

I think enough money was blown up to possibly pay off the rest of my house and for what? A couple of hours of noise and flash?

If people have unwanted money, then it would be great if they sent it to me. How is blowing up money and supporting China patriotic?

There has to be something much better to do to help people that would be real patriotism, like donating to food pantries or charities. Maybe people should think about it.
