St. Zachary Summerfest cooks up family fun in Des Plaines
The Rev. Piotr Rapcia, pastor of St. Zachary Parish in Des Plaines, got into the spirit of the church's inaugural Summerfest as he worked the grill Sunday, cooking burgers for visitors and church members.
"We're been waiting for so long to have something like this for the parish." Rapcia said.
For $5, visitors could enjoy a hamburger, hot dog or pulled pork, along with sides and a drink.
The festival, held on the parish grounds, also included music, raffles and games.
