All of America's life history should be taught

I admire William Storino's valiant attempt to tie critical race theory to Marxism. It's Fox News' latest talking point and he's a good soldier. Kinda brings back the days of Joe McCarthy and his hundred Communists in the State Department, doesn't it?

When the Republicans can't beat you, they either try to scare you to death or change the rules in the middle of the game. And Mr. Storino blaming the Democrats for slavery, the Civil War, the KKK, etc., is so passe. Every historian knows the Democrats and the GOP reversed social and political positions early in the 20th century as the Democrats began embracing more liberal social policies while Republicans began accepting the racist politics of a Deep South scared of the civil rights movement.

As far as CRT, the right uses the term as a catchall for any discussion of race or racism in America. Why are some afraid of little Johnny learning that whites used to hang black men from trees (as late as 1981); that white men killed and displaced thousand of indigenous Americans, starting with Columbus through Andrew Jackson to Sand Creek and Wounded Knee; that The Tulsa Massacre of 1921 was not allowed in Oklahoma textbooks until the 1990s; that cities used to allow real estate agents to "redline" areas of the city where Blacks were not allowed to purchase or rent homes?

This is part of American History and it must be taught. Republicans are falsely claiming that CRT states that whites are inherent and incurable racists and Johnny's going to come home from school and be ashamed to be white. It's a lie and they know it, but if you can also throw in Marxism, well, old Joe would be proud.
