A 19-year-old Carpentersville man has been charged with reckless homicide, accused of killing a man in a car crash May 8 in West Dundee.

Bail was set at $100,000 Tuesday for Dereck R. Kelly, of the 100 block of Kings Road. He posted bond Wednesday and was released from the Kane County jail.

According to a news release from the Kane County state's attorney's office, Kelly was driving at least 25 mph over the speed limit between 11:30 a.m. and noon on South Eighth Street (Route 31). As he approached Strom Drive, he hit a vehicle driven by Carl Bley, 36, of Hoffman Estates. Bley died the next day.

Kelly's license was revoked at the time of the crash. He also has been charged with misdemeanor driving on a revoked license. His next court date is July 23.
