Lombard Junior Women's Club donates books for pediatric patients at Elmhurst Hospital

On June 15, the Lombard Junior Women's Club and its 2021 Lilac Court Queen and Princesses delivered two bins of new books to the Elmhurst Memorial Hospital Foundation for pediatric patients at Elmhurst Hospital.

The donation was the result of a book drive coordinated by the Education and Libraries Committee of the Lombard Junior Women's Club.

In all, 711 books were collected.

In addition to Elmhurst Hospital, books were donated to Outreach House, SCARCE, and 10 Little Free Libraries in Lombard.

As a service project for the Lilac Princess Program, the 2021 Lilac Court helped collect and deliver the books.

"We hope these books bring a bit of sunshine and joy, along with instilling a love of reading for children, infants through teens, going through some challenging times," said club member Susie Denz.
