Courage and tolerance

As members of the advocacy ministry (POWER - Policy beyond Our Walls: Education and Response) at Our Saviour's Lutheran church in Arlington Heights, we would like to commend and thank the mayor and trustees of the village for demonstrating the courage and tolerance of designating June LGBTQ+ month. This, of course, coincides with national Pride month, and we are so glad that our village chose to show support for this effort and all people who identify as LGBTQ+.

Our church affiliation (ELCA) holds strong positive views about acceptance of all of God's children into our pews and pulpits, including members of the gay community. We welcome and support the beauty and diversity of people and their lifestyles, and we are glad to live in a community that does as well.
