Watch Itasca's July 4 fireworks show from your backyard

The Village of Itasca's annual Fourth of July fireworks show returns with a twist.

This year's event will look a little different from years past due to the uncertainty COVID-19 caused during the planning stages of the celebration.

Seating traditionally reserved for public viewing will not be available this year.

Additionally, there will be no live music, food, or vendors on the site; Hamilton Lake's site will be closed to the public.

However, there is no reason to miss out on the epic fireworks display.

The village has worked with its vendor to ensure fireworks will be visible to residents who are 2 miles away from the launch site at Hamilton Lakes, making your own backyard the best place to watch this year's fireworks.

However, if you are worried about not having a clear view of the display, there are a number of different locations for watching the fireworks, including the James E. Clayson Park, 800 N. Walnut St.; Happy Acres, off Bryn Mawr Avenue, east of Willow St.; Franzen "Play for All" Park, 730 Catalpa Ave.; and F.E. Peacock Community Park, 500 E. Bryn Mawr Ave. at Bryn Mawr Avenue and Linden Street.

The fireworks display is scheduled to begin at 10 p.m.
