McHenry County affordable housing

The McHenry County Community Development Department is accepting applications for federal affordable housing funding.

The county is offering more than $2.1 million in 2021 HOME American Rescue Plan Act supplemental funding, and $105,000 in Community Development Block Grant Program COVID CARES Act funding.

For the application, instructions, and eligibility criteria, visit www.mchenrycountyil.gov/cd. The application deadline is noon, July 6.

Applicants must present their project in person to the Community Development and Housing Grant Commission at its July 14 meeting. Funding for approved projects will be available on or after Oct. 1.
