Pakistani Physician Dr. Amin Nadeem Receives health care professionals Leadership Award
The Year 2020 was the one of the most challenging years in public health as the COVID-19 pandemic took thousands and thousands of Human lives all over the world, including Chicagoland, the frontline workers who risk their lives every day to make every life possible. The Pakistani Descent Physician Society became a Partner of several other Social and welfare organizations to fight against COVID-19 crisis.
Urdu Samaj of Chicago recognized and awarded many Chicagoland Essential workers, including firefighters, teachers, public health professionals, among others during the year. Essential workers deserve the gratitude for continuing to do their various jobs that have such an impact on human daily lives.
The Pakistani-descent Physicians Society affectionately known as PPS has made additional efforts to support long-term Health care staff members during the coronavirus pandemic under the leadership of President PPS Dr. Amin Nadeem.
The Pakistani Physicians Society, with the collaboration of the Association of Pakistani Physicians of North America, provided funds for a project to support Fight against During the COVID-19 Crisis in need in Chicagoland.
The Pakistani Physicians Society provided large numbers of supplies of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other critical medical supplies in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During The pandemic the Pakistani Physicians Society provided free telehealth services to patients using remote communication technologies where Doctors and Nurses were available for 24 hours to answer any health-related questions.
Dr. Amin Nadeem and its team also provide mental health counselors to domestic violence survivors during Pandemic. PPS provides everyone with the highest quality of medical advice with no charge of any fees and without having to travel to a clinic.
In 2020 Dr. Amin Nadeem and its team were able to run several free mass COVID-19 testing sites in Chicago and Suburbs. Currently in 2021 PPS is running several mass vaccines sites under the year of 2021 President of PPS. Dr. Samina Hijab.
The Pakistani Physician Society has been actively working during the pandemic to make a difference. PPS raised funds and collaborated with APPNA to help Churches, Mosques and Homeless Shelters for foods and rations.
Urdu Samaj of Chicago and Chicagoland Community appreciated PPS efforts to assist the Chicago population during these difficult times and indicated their willingness to work with PPS in the future as well.
Leadership award was given to Dr. Amin Nadeem on Sunday May 31st, 2021 at Oakbrook, Illinois during a PPS gathering where Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White and Pakistan Consulate General, Mr. Tariq Kareem and his wife Mrs. Kareem were also present at the ceremony. The President of Urdu Samaj of Chicago Mr. Ali Khan handed it over to him.
