Kane County Health Department closes Aurora Vax site

The Kane County Health Department recently announced that vaccination clinics scheduled for Friday, June 18 and Friday, June 25 at the Aurora Vax location (970 N. Lake St.) will be moved to the KaneVax Hub, 501 N. Randall Road in Batavia. The Aurora Vax location will be closed permanently, effective immediately.

"The site served the community well," said KCHD Interim Executive Director Kathy Fosser. "Since the opening on April 2, we provided 26,987 COVID vaccinations to area residents."

Those who were scheduled for a vaccination appointments in Aurora will be rescheduled. Those who wish to schedule sooner can go to KaneVax.org for other appointments. Walk-ins are also welcome.

"We'd like to thank our community partners the City of Aurora, the Illinois National Guard, Amita Health Nurses, the Kane County Medical Reserve Corps nurses and volunteers, the Aurora Fire Department volunteers, Waubonsee Community College, and of course, Kane County Health Department staff," Fosser said. "With the help of these partners, we were able to provide protection against this virus when the demand for vaccine was greatest."
