Person hurt in road rage fight in West Dundee

A person was hospitalized Thursday morning after a road rage fight in West Dundee.

Police were called at 7:38 a.m. to the Casey's gas station and market at 700 S. 8th St. Two vehicles had pulled into the station after a dispute on the road.

"I'm not sure exactly how it ended up there, if they were looking to gas up the car or if they pulled over to the side to continue their motorist dispute," West Dundee Police Chief Anthony Bourski told ABC 7 Chicago.

Authorities said witnesses told them the victim was attacked by at least one person who punched and beat him, then sped away shortly after pulling in to pump gas, ABC 7 reported.

Other details of the incident have not been released.

No one is in custody. Police said they do not believe there is a threat to the general public.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Dundee police at (847) 551-3810.
