'Woman of the Year'

It's hard to understand why this 1942 romance film fails to show up on more newspaper movie lists. Katharine Hepburn plays a workaholic feminist and star reporter on the New York Chronicle. Spencer Tracy plays a sports writer on the same paper. They don't get along - until they do. Beyond that, it is the first of nine Hepburn-Tracy movies the legendary Hollywood couple made, and the encounter that started their decadeslong off-screen affair. It's available on Blu-ray, DVD and most streaming services.
