Police: Batavia man charged with aggravated assault after threatening workers

A Batavia man has been arrested after police say he threatened construction workers with a knife Tuesday.

Batavia police charged Hayden J. Hogan, 26, with two counts of misdemeanor aggravated assault, according to a news release issued Wednesday.

Hogan was taken into custody without incident.

The police started searching for Hogan Tuesday morning after a report that a man yelled at two construction workers while brandishing a knife on the 100 block of Shumway Avenue, the news release said.

Hogan left the scene on his maroon bicycle and headed south toward the bike path, police said.

Later, a woman reported she was screamed at by Hogan while he road south on the bike path in the 1300 block of South River Street, the news release said.
