Julie Ramsey joins the Alzheimer's Association as the 2021 Walk to End Alzheimer's event chair in Naperville.

Julie has served as a Walk Team Captain for the last eight years, raising over $11,000. She has been an advocate for the Alzheimer's Association, meeting with Illinois senators, both Democratic and Republican, both locally and in Washington, D.C., on legislative topics for the last seven years. The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer' is the world's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer's care, support and research programs. The Naperville Walk to End Alzheimer's will be held on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021 at North Central College.

The Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's is moving forward with plans to host the event in person this fall. The health and safety of participants, volunteers and staff remain the Association's top priorities while continuing to monitor the pandemic and make decisions about event details in local communities. While planning to gather in person, the Alzheimer's Association will continue to offer options to participate in Walk to End Alzheimer's online and in neighborhoods across the country.

"Julie has been involved with the Walk to End Alzheimer's in Naperville for several years and I was excited that she took on the Naperville chair role. It's a double bonus when you can combine her passion for the mission plus her laser focus on results. I'm so glad she's leading us into a strong 2021 Walk season,"said Sheena Rayford, walk manager for Naperville.

More than six million Americans are living with Alzheimer's disease - a leading cause of death in the United States. Additionally, more than 11 million family members and friends provide care to people living with Alzheimer's and other dementias.
