EQuality Downers Grove celebrates Pride Month in Downers Grove

EQDG PRIDE (EQuality Downers Grove) is celebrating Pride Month for the first time. This community organization's mission is to create an accepting and equitable environment for LGBTQ+ people through education, support, social action, and advocacy.

Local artists are volunteering their time to paint multiple windows downtown that will remain in place throughout June.

Cadence Kitchen & Co., 5101 Mochel; The Foxtail, 5237 Main St.; and Pierce Tavern, 5135 Main St., will offer Pride Picnics-To-Go each weekend in June.

A portion of proceeds will be donated to Youth Outlook, the first social service agency in Illinois solely dedicated to the support of LGBTQ+ youth.

Several additional businesses will offer special Pride items (some will donate a portion of proceeds to Youth Outlook).

Stop in to check out special Pride products at Louisa's & Millie's Chocolates, 5129 Main St.; Fair Game, 1015 Curtiss St.; Anderson's Bookshop, 5112 Main St.; Downers Grove Public Library, 1050 Curtiss St.; Happy Dog Barkery, 5118 Main St.; Peak Running, 945 Burlington Ave.; Wells Street Popcorn, 5124 Main St.; Charlie & Grace Children's Consignment Boutique, 937 Curtiss St.; and more.
