Chicago man dies in I-290 crash near Itasca
A Chicago man died after a crash Thursday on I-290 near Itasca, police said.
The man, 53, was driving his green 1997 Jeep Wrangler east on I-290 east of I-390 about 12:20 p.m. when he struck the median wall. His vehicle slid on its driver's side, and he was partially ejected, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police.
Crews shut down all southbound lanes of I-290 for the investigation.
The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene by the DuPage County coroner's office.
All lanes of Interstate 290 were reopened about 3:45 p.m., police said.
