Naperville's Loaves & Fishes hosting Mother's Day food drive

Loaves & Fishes Community Services is hosting a virtual Mother's Day food drive to support families in need.

The Naperville nonprofit's food assistance program provides weekly access to nutritious foods for thousands of residents - often more than 1,100 families - each week, according to a news release. Each client received approximately 100 pounds of healthy food per visit, including dry goods, fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, milk and eggs.

Mothers who struggle with food insecurity often skip meals, forgo medical care and work multiple jobs to make sure their kids don't go hungry, organization leaders say.
