Route 137 resurfacing starts Monday

Resurfacing of Route 137 from Russell Road in Winthrop Harbor to Greenwood Road in Waukegan, passing through Beach Park and Zion, will require daily, intermittent lane closures beginning, weather permitting, Monday, April 26.

The project consists of resurfacing the 7.5-mile stretch of Route 137 and building new ADA-compliant sidewalk ramps.

Access to residences and businesses within the work zone will be maintained throughout construction, which is expected to be completed in November.
