Macy's to open second area off-price store

VERNON HILLS - Macy's will open its off-price store, Macy's Backstage, at Hawthorn Mall on Saturday, April 17. Macy's Backstage will have 11,800 square feet of dedicated retail space on the third level inside the full-line Macy's, the retailer said.

The new store joins Macy's Backstage Old Orchard in Skokie. Macy's Backstage offers fashion-loving customers another way to shop by providing a store-within-store shopping experience specifically designed for the savvy and cost-conscious shopper.

"As Macy's expands its assortment from off-price to luxury, we are thrilled to bring Macy's Backstage into the local community, giving our customers access to the fullness of the Macy's brand," said Michael Hersh, Macy's vice president of off-price.

The Hawthorn Mall Backstage store is one of 15 the company will open around the country next week.
