Campton United Soccer Club offers kids a premier soccer experience
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, it's become even clearer that sports are an essential way for youth to stay connected, relieve stress and learn important life skills.
Although it's been extraordinarily difficult to provide training and support for the boys and girls involved with Campton United Soccer Club because of COVID, the organization isn't giving up on finding ways to keep their athletes motivated and playing.
The Club altered its fee structure to support families during financially challenging times and are humbled by the continued sponsorship and support they've received from the local community. As a registered nonprofit, the Club has always relied on the generous goodwill of the sponsors. That support has never been as important as during the pandemic to help the organization continue its mission of making soccer available to players and families regardless of socioeconomic status, race or gender.
"We value and foster confidence, passion and character. Players are encouraged to be creative, experiment and take risks. Our approach has guided us to national titles at the highest levels of competition and has made us a magnet club," said Caulbert Smith, executive director of Campton United Soccer Club.
Thanks to the community's support, Campton United Soccer Club has been able to continue offering a premier soccer experience to youth in Fox Valley despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Through fundraising efforts such as the Soccer Shirt Sponsorship Club and many other sponsorship opportunities, Campton United is continuing to make soccer available for all. Through the Soccer Shirt Sponsorship Club, local businesses and individuals can sponsor game-day jerseys, tryout shirts, training shirts and other event shirts. The Gerald Auto Group has been the main sponsor of the club since 2011. This year, Gerald Subaru of North Aurora is thrilled to support this organization and is looking forward to continuing to help increase access to sports opportunities for the area's youth.
"Local sports are great from an educational and team building standpoint for all who participate," said Deen Collins, partner of Gerald Auto Group.
With support from Gerald and others, Campton United is able to make high-level coaching and wonderful experiences available to the community at more affordable prices. Access to this type of elite training and exceptional coaching gives kids valuable life skills, in addition to soccer skills, that will benefit their respective local communities for years to come.
"We have been very active in the communities and high schools in the Fox Valley area for some time, and Campton United is one of the feeder programs for those schools. It is very rewarding to support kids and parents at any early age and follow their successes through high school," said Collins.
