Aurora's Flowing Forth United Methodist Church celebrates Easter

A year after churches closed their doors because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Flowing Forth United Methodist Church in Aurora resumed in-person worship on Palm Sunday.

The church worships at 10 a.m. Sundays at Aurora Christian School, 2255 Sullivan Road in Aurora.

Maundy Thursday, April 1, marks Jesus' final meal with his disciples and the "mandate" he gives to love one another. Drive-in communion provided in prepackaged units will be available between 6 and 8 p.m. in the parking lot of Aurora Christian School, 2255 Sullivan Road in Aurora.

Journey to the Cross is an interactive Lenten experience that will walk you through the last week of Jesus' life. This self-guided journey will feature stations for reflection, prayer, and action exercises. It will be open from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, April 2.

On Sunday, April 4, join "Easter Sunday: Encountering the Risen Christ Today" at 10 a.m. for worship as they celebrate the joy of Jesus' resurrection.

In accordance with local guidelines, Pastor Derek Rogers said attendance will be limited to 75 persons. Online worship will continue on the church website, Facebook and YouTube.

According to Rev. Rogers, safety protocols and procedures will be followed. Congregants will be asked to maintain social distance from anyone who does not live in their household.

There will be no coffee/fellowship time, adult education, Sunday school or nursery. Children may attend church services with their families.
