Go Green Barrington & Barrington Area Library announce Environmental Waste Reduction & Recycling Seminar For Earth Day 2021

Go Green Barrington and the Barrington Area Library have partnered to host Kate Carney, Cook County Department of Environment & Sustainability's Community Outreach Coordinator, on a free-to-watch Zoom program at 7:30 p.m. on April 19th 2021.

The program kicks off the beginning of Earth Week (April 19 - 24), a global celebration of Earth's many ecological wonders, with additional focus on community action to preserve its natural beauty. Titled "Reducing Waste & Recycling Right," the program will highlight ways to reduce waste through different lifestyle choices and techniques, as well as diving into the many ways discarded materials can be recycled. After the lecture, participants can participate in Q&A.

"Earth Week is an excellent opportunity for residents to learn more about keeping our community green," said Jennifer Lucas, founder of Go Green Barrington, and a member of the Barrington Area Library board. "The library is a great resource for all ages to learn more about environmental science and keeping our community healthy."

To register, visit the Barrington Area Library's online calendar. Registration is limited.
