Firefighter suffers minor injury in Barrington fire

A Barrington firefighter was taken to the hospital with a minor injury after a house fire was extinguished in Barrington, according to fire officials.

Shortly before 10:30 a.m., Barrington firefighters responded to an attached garage fire on the 400 block of Hillside Avenue. Fire crews were able to contain the blaze to the attic and outside of the attached garage before extinguishing it 33 minutes after arriving.

One firefighter was taken to Good Shepherd Hospital with a nonlife-threatening injury.

An investigation into the fire is still ongoing.
