Be a buckthorn buster for Hawthorn Woods parks department

The Hawthorn Woods parks department is seeking community volunteers to assist with upcoming projects. The first scheduled project is from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, March 27, at Woodland Park, 23 Juel Circle. Volunteers will assist clearing buckthorn. Register in advance by contacting Brian Sullivan at bsullivan@vhw.org or (847) 847-3531. Volunteers must be 16 years of age or older. Volunteers ages 12-15 are welcome but must attend with a chaperon 18 years of age or older.
