McHenry County College to host virtual open house

Deciding what to study in school or wondering how to take your next step? Learn more about the programs, certificates, and resources available at McHenry County College during "Meet MCC: Prepare for Your Next" from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 24.

The virtual event takes the place of the college's annual MCC Night, which was traditionally held in person each fall.

During this self-guided, open house format event, prospective students can pop in and out of different booths to chat with individual departments as they wish.

"We know there's a ton of information being thrown at potential college students," said Amy Carzoli, director of Enrollment Services at McHenry County College.

"That's why we're focused on helping students navigate their next step and figure out a plan that aligns with their goals. During this event, students will have the chance to make those important face-to-face connections and ask their individual questions - all from the comfort of their own home."

In addition to information about degrees, certificates, and resources, prospective students are also invited to attend a variety of breakout sessions about financial aid, academic advising, athletics, student activities, and more.

"This event isn't just for high school students," Carzoli said. "We have a lot of information for returning adult and transfer students as well. Even if students aren't sure what they want to pursue, we encourage them to come and explore options that can help them get one step closer to their goals."

The event is open to the public and free to attend. All attendees will also receive a waiver code for a free MCC application.
