Order your tickets for Elgin Rotary's 5000 Reverse Raffle

True to the Rotary motto "Service above Self", in the last year, the Rotary Club of Elgin (Noon) members have taken on many important projects.

These projects included: delivering food, supplies, and other needed items to seniors at their homes; funding warm winter coats for children; and participating in the Hope for the Holidays project by providing books and gifts.

The club also provided more than $12,000 in scholarships to local students. The members are currently working on getting more books into the hands of young children to promote reading and literacy.

In addition to donations from Rotary Club members, the club's good work depends upon donations and proceeds from their Rotary 5000 Reverse Raffle.

Community members have the opportunity to purchase raffle tickets at $100 each. Only 125 tickets will be sold.

The exciting event culminates in numbers being drawn with the last five numbers winning a portion of the $5,000 prize money, with the last one out winning the largest payout.

This event, prior to the pandemic, had been a night of in-person frivolity, food and fun. This year, it again will be an exciting free online event featuring the Reverse Raffle, a Live auction, and a special guest.

This year's Rotary 5000 will take place via Zoom from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 16.

To sign up to attend the free event and/or purchase raffle tickets go to www.Rotary5000.org. You can see what numbers are available.

Coming soon: Live Auction Items and Sponsors will be posted.

More information about Rotary Club of Elgin is available at www.RotaryClubofElgin.org.

Currently, the club meets at 12:05 p.m. Mondays via Zoom, except for the last Monday of the month, which is a social club meeting at 4 p.m.
