Special event March 13 aids K9s for Veterans

For all of March, dry dog food, dog treats and donations will be collected to help K9s for Veterans in its mission to rescue dogs from kill shelters and train them to be service dogs for veterans who have PTSD and/or TBI.

The organization provides food and medical care for each service dog for life.

A special event will be held at noon Saturday, March 13, at Best Pets Ltd., 939 Main St., Antioch. There will be at least three veteran/service dog teams, a DJ, special speakers, Lovin' Oven cookies, representatives from the Antioch VFW and Antioch American Legion, giveaways, K9s for Veterans merchandise for sale/donation and more. This will be an event spread out inside and outside.

Local businessman Bernard Edelman will be presenting a $500 donation to K9s for Veterans CEO Mike Tellerino.
