Starbucks proposes new location in Romeoville

ROMEOVILLE - Starbucks has submitted concept plans for a free-standing store that could soon make its home on Route 53. If approved, the 2,300 square foot building, with a drive-through, would go on a vacant lot next to Joe's Beverage Warehouse, near the intersection of Romeo Road and Route 53.

"The development at this intersection continues to move forward," said Romeoville Mayor John Noak. "We're sure the residents on the east side as well as the students at Lewis University will be very eager to get their Starbucks fix."

The location would feature upgraded building design and will undergo plan review this month. If things go as planned, construction could start in June with an opening in October of this year, the village said.
