McHenry County history series starts Monday

The McHenry County Historical Society launches its virtual Sampler Lecture Series on Monday, March 8, with "Heirloom Recipes of the Illinois State Fair." Speaker Catherine Lamprecht will discuss generational recipes submitted in several Midwest states, and the interesting family stories accompanying them. Attendees will be able to follow the judging experience on dishes ranging from cold beet soup to real Italian polenta meat sauce to chocolate sour cream pound cake. Lambrecht will share award-winning recipes and welcomes beloved generational recipes from the audience, as well.
