Identity theft prevention webinar

An online informational identity theft prevention and protection workshop is scheduled for Monday, May 1, at 5 p.m., State Rep. Tom Weber of Lake Villa said in a news release.

The webinar will be taught by a member of the Illinois Comptroller's Office. Residents can participate in the workshop via Zoom or Facebook live on Weber's page, Facebook.com/StateRepresentativeTomWeber. To register via Zoom, visit RepWeber.com.

Participants will learn how to identify potential scams/fraud, protect against identity theft, and understand the importance of securing personal information. There will also be an update on fraudulent claims being filed through the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES).
