We live in sad times

It is truly a sad time for our country when 43 of the elected Senate representatives put their party loyalty ahead of the will of the people who elected them. I really feel sorry for the people who are represented by Mitch McConnell. First he refuses to call a session to consider impeachment before the end of Trump's term. Then almost immediately after he votes to acquit the ex-president due to his being out of office, he stands up and states that Trump was indeed responsible at least in part for the riotous insurrection that attempted to overthrow our government.

Now that we know who in the legislature will bow down in worship to the "golden calf," also known as Donald J Trump, every effort should be made to place all of their names alongside his in bearing some responsibility for the death, injury and destruction that took place in the Capitol building and the surrounding area. He as well as all the others will have to eventually answer for their conduct, possibly not to us, but surely to their Creator.

I guess Trump was right when he stated he could shoot someone and not lose any of his base. What a sad, sad time we live in.
