Politicians posturing rather than leading

While reading “Your Views” in the Daily Herald, I began to understand I am not the only citizen concerned with our rampaging government, observing those representatives whom we have elected to serve us spend increasingly more time at each other's throats and attempt to keep us sweet by buying our votes with, mostly, unnecessary monetary handouts, thus posturing for a win come next election cycle.

There is little doubt we have people, families and businesses who need financial help during these most-troubling times, and certainly there are resources to aid those stricken with need due to the economic issues brought by the pandemic. In my view, aid should be offered to those resource entities which are, hopefully, better able to offer aid where needed.

A blanket handout is neither responsible nor useful to address specific needs. These handouts show a representative government unable to manage those situations for which we've elected them to office.

Time spent eviscerating the “other guy” shows a rampage of hate, a rampage which should be focused on keeping America strong. They wish to show how our recent president should be ashamed of his actions, but in my view, they are acting shamefully in spending such time vengefully. There are ways and means to address an impeachment without such drama.

America, and its citizens, should be first in line.
