Ex-husband charged in Waukegan murder case

A woman's ex-husband was charged Wednesday with her murder, Waukegan authorities said.

Jose A. Alvarado-Ramirez called police at 6:45 a.m. Sunday and said his ex-wife was unresponsive inside a car, police said in a news release.

Police found the woman dead in a car on the 500 block of Lakehurst Road in Waukegan. An autopsy showed she suffered injuries from a sharp object, but the official cause of death and woman's identity haven't been released yet by the Lake County coroner's office.

Alvarado-Ramirez is being held in Lake County jail on $2 million bail and is scheduled to appear in court again March 9.
