Where's togetherness?

Just a quick thought after the unity/compromising themes of the inaugural speeches: Our new president did not exactly practice what he preached, as his first action as president was to sign 17 presidential directives each countering one of the Trump (Republican Party desired) initiatives. Where was the "together we move forward" action he promised?
