Beams work

Along with Long Grove authorities, I too share the frustration, not to mention baffling nature of understanding why vehicles have damaged the historic covered bridge on multiple occasions. Apparently lights, signs and arrows are either misunderstood or completely ignored. There is a simpler, more effective solution. Erect horizontal beams before both entry points to the bridge. Set at the right height, they will deter and stop vehicles before reaching the bridge. These exist in most underground parking garages. and work.
