Youngest Bulls player to score 20, Williams joins some good company
Patrick Williams became the youngest player in Bulls history to score 20 points in a game on Friday night in Orlando, at 19 years and 163 days.
Who's mark did he surpass? It was Tyson Chandler, who had his first 20-point game at 19 years and 190 days. Wendell Carter (19-198), Luol Deng (19-204) and Coby White (19-251) round out the list of Bulls who had their first 20-point game at age 19.
The youngest player to take the floor for the Bulls is Eddy Curry at 18 years, 330 days in the 2001-02 season opener. Curry didn't record his first 20-point game, though, until midway through his second season.
The list of Bulls who recorded their first 20-point game at age 20 includes Ron Artest (20-6), Derrick Rose (20-28), Curry (20-79), Lauri Markkanen (20-1263), Tyrus Thomas (20-208), Elton Brand (20-240) and Bobby Portis (20-312), according to basketball-reference.com.
The youngest Bulls player to score 30 in a game was Deng (19-298), followed by White (20-6) and Curry (20-107).
Pre-2000, the youngest Bulls player to score 30 was Reggie Theus at 21 years, 121 days, followed by Michael Jordan (21-225).
The youngest player in NBA history to score 20 in a game was Jermaine O'Neal for Portland at 18 years, 101 days. The youngest to score 30 was LeBron James at 18 years, 334 days.
