Virtual gardening series begins Feb. 10

The 2021 Garden Learning Series will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. the second Wednesday of the month beginning Feb. 10. The first in the series to be held virtually will feature tips on starting plants from seed. Through a federal grant, the Solid Waste Agency of Lake County and University of Illinois Extension are collaborating to present local efforts promoting composting and food waste diversion. The intent is to increase the generation and use of compost in commercial, residential, agriculture, and community garden sectors in Lake County. Visit swalco.org or extension.illinois.edu/lm.
