Authorities say IDOT supervisor from Downers Grove submitted fake doctor's notes

A man from Downers Grove was charged with five counts of forgery and five counts of wire fraud after an investigation found he submitted fake doctor's notes excusing him from work, authorities said.

Bryan Laughlin, an Illinois Department of Transportation operations supervisor, turned himself in Monday and was later released on bond, according to a news release from the Illinois State Police.

Illinois State Police started investigating Laughlin May 8, the news release said. An arrest warrant was issued by Judge Daniel P. Guerin last week.
