Fortune Brands reports 6% sale increase for 2020
DEERFIELD - Fortune Brands Home & Security Inc. Wednesday announced fiscal year 2020 earnings results, which include approximately $6.1 billion in sales, an increase of about 6% over 2019.
Earnings per share were $3.94 compared to $3.06 in the prior year, the company said. Operating income was $801.4 million, compared to $698.5 million in the prior year.
"Strong fourth quarter results capped a remarkable 2020 performance by our teams," said Nicholas Fink, chief executive officer, Fortune Brands.
On Nov. 17, the company announced it was acquiring Larson Manufacturing, the North American market leading brand of storm, screen and security doors for approximately $660 million before closing adjustments. On Dec. 14, the transaction was closed, and Larson officially joined Fortune Brands' Outdoors & Security segment.
