Join online trivia night Feb. 17 to support the troops

Join a fundraiser for Operation Support Our Troops-America and test your knowledge of "Diversity in the Military, Past and Present" at a virtual trivia night Wednesday, Feb. 17.

There will be a variety of questions, ranging from easy to difficult. The first-, second- and third-place winners will receive gift cards. There will also be a 50/50 split the pot (the winner will be announced during the event, but you do not need to participate in the event to purchase split the pot tickets).

OSOT-America is a top-rated nonprofit charity supporting active-duty military, Gold Star Families, veterans, and their families. Proceeds from the fundraiser will support its programs, including:

• Veterans Assistance Program, which provides stop-gap measure funding to veterans and their families in need who are experiencing a financial crisis.

• Leap of Faith Program, which helps support Families of the Fallen through a three-day grief healing collaboration seminar, "Leap of Faith," with the Army Golden Knights Parachute Team or the All Veteran Parachute Team, which provides a growth experience based around a tandem sky-dive.

• Comfort and Care Package Program for deployed troops serving in harm's way. The organization has shipped more than 2.1 million pounds to deployed troops since 2003. It continues to support active duty military that are deployed in over 70% of the world's countries.

• G.I. Yoga Program teaches stress relief methods and tools to manage symptoms of PTSD and TBI to veterans and their family members by using the practice of yoga. All classes are taught by certified yoga instructors and are free to veterans and their families. Due to the pandemic, all classes are being taught online on the G.I. Yoga YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5HDJLHev2U.
