Impeachment will hold ex-president accountable

So let me get this straight. Many Republican senators are saying that conviction of the president in the Senate when he is out of office is not constitutional. In other words, the president can do anything - literally anything, even participate in a violent insurrection against the legislative branch resulting in several deaths - during the closing days of his or her term and cannot be held accountable.

The patent absurdity of that idea is proof that the process that the Senate is embarking upon - to make a clear and irreversible decision to disqualify Donald Trump from ever holding federal office again - is not only constitutional, but necessary.
