Sen. McConchie launches Valentines For Seniors

Illinois Senate Republican Leader Dan McConchie (R-Hawthorn Woods) is collecting Valentine's Day cards from members of the 26th Senate District to help uplift the spirits of residents in long-term care facilities.

"The isolation caused by COVID-19 has been especially tough on our people in assisted-living communities," McConchie said. "This Valentines for Seniors program is a fun way to let them know they are not alone and spread love and cheer throughout our community."

McConchie is encouraging churches, schools, and everyone in the 26th Senate District to write Valentine's Day cards and mail or drop them off to his district office by Wednesday, Feb. 10.

Once all the cards have been collected, they will be delivered to the various long-term care facilities throughout the district.

"This is a safe and healthy way to bring people together and do something kind for someone else," McConchie said. "Whether you are an artist, a poet or just someone who has a nice message to share, you can get involved in this program and brighten someone's day."

Mail-in or drop-off location: 325 N. Rand Road, Suite B, Lake Zurich, IL 60047.

For everyone's safety, social distance and wear a mask if dropping cards off in-person. For information or to arrange a separate drop-off time, call (224) 662-4544.
