Scott Wood named vice president for FunkAway odor eliminators

WAUKEGAN - FunkAway, a Chicago area company that manufactures odor eliminating products, said Scott Wood of Mission Hills, Kansas, has joined the team as executive vice president of sales. Wood has more than 20 years of sales experience, bringing consumer products to the shelves and online across major retailers.

Working for over two decades at Rust-Oleum, Wood directed sales efforts and took the brand into new markets and retailers. Wood's major accomplishments include leading the Walmart sales team and growing sales exponentially during his tenure. Wood was able to expand the core business as well as penetrate into new departments across the Walmart box.

Wood also took products into the automotive market, directed efforts in grocery and helped build the business with retailers ranging from Ace Hardware to Costco and major stores like Target - where Rust-Oleum had never been sold before.

To drive growth for FunkAway, Wood plans on leveraging his retail experience and introducing the brand to new retailers and, ultimately, new consumers.

"We are extremely excited to welcome Scott to our team because of his experience and his enthusiasm," said Kyle Bolke, president and co-founder of FunkAway. "He brings a fresh perspective, and his relationships and channel experience will strengthen our leadership. I have no doubt he will fuel our growth and provide for our continuing mission as the champion of odor elimination."
