Trump's place in history books

Many books have been written about our past U.S. presidents. The leadership of Lincoln, Washington, Kennedy and Franklin Roosevelt during strikingly difficult times in our nation's history are worthy of reading, scholarly books written by researchers and inspirational editions written for the general public.

To this list of presidents, I would add Donald Trump. In the future we will see a large number of books written about his tenure. Not, however, because of how he handled times of crisis in our nation, but because of the crises he created. Not because of the wisdom and skills he displayed in ruling our nation, but because of the enormous lack of skills, critical thinking and concern for uniting a nation for the welfare of all.

University law schools will have courses on the constitution crises he created. Political science departments will lead classes on the danger of uncontrolled power and the failure of congressional leadership to reign it in. Sociology courses will be created looking at the harm to mankind that the policies of Trump, his cabinet and the senatorial leadership of his time have created.

Not quite the same legacy as these other presidents. Not at all.
