Barrington chamber honors Conquer Award recipients

BARRINGTON - The Barrington Area Chamber of Commerce has announced its 2021 Conquer Awards recipients, many of whom are being recognized for their efforts during the pandemic.

The recipients, chosen by champer members, will be honored in a streaming event on Thursday, Jan. 28. "After coming off this pandemic year, it seemed appropriate to celebrate those businesses and organizations that stood tall, embraced the challenges of the year and persevered," said Suzanne Corr, champer president and CEO. "Our Conquer Awards celebrate stories of courage, innovation and determination."

The 2021 BACC Conquer Awards Recipients are:

• Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital and Amita Health, in recognition of local health care professionals who are the first line of impact and defense against the pandemic.

• Barrington Transportation Company, which utilized its staff and busses to deliver hundreds of meals, prepared by Barrington Children's Charities, to local families experiencing food insecurity.

• Barrington Youth & Family Services, for creating online programming and resources to help with the growing demand by youth, families and individuals for social services during the pandemic.

• L.A.N. Office Furnishings, which re-imagined their product line and sales approach to meet the needs of a remote workforce amid COVID concerns.

• Neoteca Inc., a restaurant that developed a product to help other restaurants distance their seating; and revised their menus to include take-home pizza kits for family fun.

• The Club at Wynstone, which represents an industry offering one of the few outdoor activities that remained accessible during the pandemic, but under complicated and restrictive safety rules. Many golf outings were postponed, rescheduled, modified, and finally conquered.
