Elmhurst police: Shots fired into vehicle exiting expressway
No one was injured, but Elmhurst police are investigating a shooting that happened at 2:30 a.m. Saturday on the I-290 westbound ramp onto St. Charles Road.
The victim said a silver sedan followed him onto westbound St. Charles Road, and an unknown person fired several bullets into the victim's car. The shooter's car did a U-turn and headed east on St. Charles Road, possibly onto eastbound I-290.
Police closed St. Charles Road near I-290 until 5:30 a.m. to gather evidence. The suspect's vehicle is a silver 1995 to 2003 BMW 5 series, four-door sedan with tinted windows. Anyone with video footage or information is asked to contact the Elmhurst Police Department at 630 530-3050.
