Thank you, neighbors
Thank you to all the families in Glen Ellyn who put big letters on their lawns that spelled out "Thank You."
To those who celebrated their family birthdays with arcs of magically colorful balloons over their doors.
To the children who wrote cheerful messages on their sidewalks and driveways. We took care to step around them not wanting to spoil their pictures and positive words.
And thank you especially to the people in a house on Whittier who put Santa on their lawn in late spring and kept him there all through summer and beyond. He holds a sign that pays homage to RBG by simply spelling out her initials, after that his sign expresses words of encouragement and cheer.
On our walks, we made it a point to pass by him to see what he had to say. So thank you to Santa, his helpers, to artistic children, to the parents, to everyone who reached out and made our daily walks a beautiful day in the neighborhood.
