No injuries in late night Naperville house fire

No one was injured in a late Sunday night house fire on the 900 block of Savannah Circle in Naperville, fire officials said.

The two occupants of the home were already outside when firefighters arrived just after 10:30 p.m., according to the Naperville Fire Department.

Firefighters reported smoke showing from the first floor of the two-story, single-family house.

While the fire originated in the basement, investigators are still determining the cause.

Fire officials said they were notified by the residents, who reported smelling smoke, but firefighters noted there were no smoke detectors inside the home.

No damage estimate was available Monday, but the residents were able to return to their home after city inspectors determined it to be habitable.
