4th arrest in slaying of retired Chicago firefighter

CHICAGO (AP) - A fourth person has been arrested in the slaying of a retired Chicago Fire Department lieutenant, who was shot and killed killed during an attempt to carjack his car last month.

Late Friday, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown announced on Twitter that the FBI had arrested the suspect in Pennsylvania. Brown did not identify the suspect but said he was being held on a $2 million warrant that charges him with murder.

The police department's news affairs office said Saturday that the person's name would not be released until he is extradited to Illinois. The department has not explained the person's alleged role in the slaying of 65-year-old Dwain Williams, but after the arrest this week of a third suspect, police said only the getaway driver was at large.

Surveillance video shows Williams walking toward his Jeep on Dec. 3 from a nearby popcorn shop when two people armed with guns approached him. Williams, who had a concealed carry permit, was killed while exchanging gunfire with his assailants.

The three others who were arrested remain in custody.
