Naperville apartment habitable after kitchen fire
Naperville firefighters extinguished a blaze Wednesday morning in the kitchen of an apartment on the northwest side of town, officials said.
Crews responded about 6 a.m. to a three-story residential building in the 700 block of Inland Circle, where they reported light smoke showing from the front door, according to a news release from the Naperville Fire Department. The kitchen fire, found in a first-floor unit, was extinguished within 12 minutes.
The resident, who had evacuated the building, was evaluated and released at the scene, officials said. The apartment was deemed habitable.
